It's a draw, the line hasn't moved since they put it up days ago.

I think Pirates of Carib has an advantage,I believe that only an insane man would go to see a film named Legally Blonde 2!But it seems that MGM might have chosen a better opening day.Not sure, but I believe this bet might have some value and I m suprised to see no one cares about it.

I would actually lean toward Legally Blond 2, don't know, but didn't he give the first one 3 stars? Pirates looks a bit dubious in the preview...

I don't think so. I wouldn't touch it. Don't forget that Legally Blonde 1 received 3 stars. Ebert seems to like Reese Witherspoon's films.

Cruel intentions: 3stars
Sweet Home Alabama: 3 stars
Election: 3.5 stars

I stayed away from this one -- too much unpredictability with Pirates of the Caribbean. Could be a summer hit, could be a stinker. Bruckheimer is just as capable of producing a big budget stinker as he is a big budget hit.

Hey everyone,

Good to be back... I was on holidays for a few days. I see we've had lots of verbal wars since I was gone. lol.

I think Pirates of the Carribean with Jonny Depp will do excellent... and Legally Blonde really doesn't have much to offer... I bet those are ebert's exact words. Really, how much more can that blonde bimbo do? where the Pirates of the Carribean has all sorts of cool, special effects, new story, and Jonny Depp. Plus it originates from a ride at Disneyland. This will bring back memories for the fat pig Ebert.

Cool. I'll take Pirates.

Gil I wont jinx your bet here and finally decide to take the plunge with you. As soon as I do you're bound to lose. I like Legally Blond, but I'll just hold off on it. I see them both as having equal chances of pulling 3.

I don't see them as having equal chances to pull off 3 -- I don't envision Legally Blonde 2 pulling anything over 2.5. My question is whether or not Pirates will beat that. Like I said, it could be a stinker or it could be great -- you certainly can't judge by Bruckheimer and Depp's previous flicks.

But it's already been established that Ebert has a Witherspoon fetish... and I saw the preview, at the very least it's well produced. I took Pirates anyways because Gil is on it, I put a whole ten spot on that shit.
